Re: Grafon: low quality hi-res textures replacement

Thank you. :) I agree what a PITA sprites can be. Not just the art either, they're a pain on the programming side as well. I doubt my next project will use sprites so heavily. They aren't a preference in general, but they are my preference in Daggerfall. Anyway, this project is all about laying the ...

Re: Grafon: low quality hi-res textures replacement

I didn't say they were superior. I said they were my personal preference in Daggerfall. I don't have any more to add, and I'm not going to argue for a point I never actually made. Please don't try to draw me into that. :)

Re: Grafon: low quality hi-res textures replacement

That all depends on the individual, I think. My personal ideal is repaints around Battlespire's level of detail, and I will always prefer sprites over 3D models in Daggerfall. That's the nice thing about an open project like this one however. I'll take project where I believe it needs to go with a g...

Re: Grafon: low quality hi-res textures replacement

That imp looks badass, great work. It's a shame about the limited frames right now. Ideally it would be possible to inject entirely new anim sets for each group (idle, attack, etc.) with any number of frames and define the animation speeds. Hopefully that's something that happens eventually for mods...

I don't object, provided the stacking makes sense (i.e. stack based on effect). I think Daggerfall's potions are a pretty good candidate for stacking.

Re: Saner Dungeons

It appears that he's changing the index table in BLOCKS.BSA so that offsets to large/complex blocks now reference smaller/simpler blocks instead. So when dungeon is laid out complexity is reduced overall while the actual block layout and total number of blocks remains the same. It's an interesting a...

Yep, really looking forward to first update on spells. Just need some more time to wrap up a few things. Hopefully first post will be up within this coming week.

Re: Pickpocketing rats and towns people

Sorry, I didn't see your post when I posted the video link.. I must of still been typing, my bad. Hmm.. I suppose that decision to pickpocket classes only, will help balance things. I just assumed you guys were keeping things that existed in classic in DFU, instead of the refining them. I describe ...

Re: Pickpocketing rats and towns people

I would personally consider this a bug in classic Daggerfall, not in Daggerfall Unity. You're welcome to disagree of course, but I'm not interested in debating the virtues of pickpocketing beasts that do not have pockets. :) I respect Allofich's implementation as it stands. If he chooses to change t...

Re: Pickpocketing rats and towns people

Looking back through the code, I can confirm both of these items are intentional refinements.
