Custom Portraits

So, I started redrawing the female dark elf portraits. But, I ran into a problem, I can't get them to render in DFU.

I've been trying to figure out how to get custom portraits to work. This far DFU refuses to load them as loose texture files, even if I copy the original Daggerfall folder structure for them (tried put them into a CIF folder of the same name etc). Anyone have any idea on how to do this ?

I have started some redraws, nothing final and all very much in the starting phase - as I would first like to test the rendering out in DFU before anything else.

This is what I have this far, it's not much and barely any work but I guess it justifies making the thread to ask how to get them to render.

Hi, just like I mentioned in the OP - I already tried as instructed here to have them in StreamingAssets\Textures\CifRci as this instructs. I tried it with and without the prefix for the .CIF file (as pictured here https://i.imgur.com/gnGuC4R.png and https://i.imgur.com/8YPV120.png). I have enabled graphical mods. I disabled my mod load entirely, which has graphical mods that function fine, and the loose portrait textures still do not load.

Well I got everything to work so far and did some minor tweaks on the faces, also did initial versions of the swords up til elven and some of the female clothes.

Don't mind the clipping, I will get around to adjusting the texture files of the different bodytypes after I'm happy with the textures. I will be posting more progress during the weekend showcasing some of the armors and faces I have now redone.

I have now done initial versions for almost all of the female armors, haven't playtested them as I need to hunt down the items in the game first so I can see how they portray. There is still a lot of clipping, again I'll get to fixing that once I'm happy with how the item looks like ingame. (That elven left pauldron is abyssmal, and I will be redrawing it. I was trying to figure out to which level I can include detail until it starts to look funny.)

Next trying to figure out how to get the alphas of the helmets to portray correctly and starting on the actual clothing pieces. I'll be updating with more screenshots during the weekend.

Thank you, I'll get to that soon then to figure out how to have them not pixelated.
Meanwhile I got bored of redoing individuals clothes and started some redrawings of sprites.
