I've scaled this one to 512 on the longest side.
But it could probably be smaller again.
The original is 13 x 34 pixels

wow man, the base of the tree is beautiful, I love the tiny grass fibers you created there, and the recreation of the blurred flower as well, the pink/purple bells were not even visible in the original, great job! EDIT: Its hardly visible on the original tree, but I think theres more moss in the original than in a remake. Deffo theres moss on that hollow branch in the middle, but I think I see a hints of a moss in the upper half of the tree as well. Maybe adding more moss would add to the gnarly feeling even more :) Its up to you, its good either way.

Now that I think about it, it's amazing how much detail I "imagined" into the original Daggerfall graphics :o What you're doing is how the game should have looked to begin with! :)

Every time you make one of these, it's my new favourite. I love how you've found the beauty in a few blurry pixels. Can't wait to play these one day.

That was the beauty of the game.
The dungeons have a lot of atmosphere and a sense of grunge. But when you turn the lights on and put the same textures and meshes in a modern engine, suddenly it looks too 'clean' and the atmosphere is not there.
It's like what Impressionism is in painting, compared with Realism.
