#110 Linux: Teleporting to a dungeon retains outdoors music [RESOLVED]

Post by Jay_H »

Here's how it happened:

1. From outside, entered palace
2. In palace triggered teleport action to dungeon
3. In dungeon music was playing from outside, #1.

The outside music looped once and stopped entirely, leaving no music after.

Thanks Jay! This one has been around for a while, can even happen just loading a game from external > dungeon. I opened an issue for this one a little while back.

Have an idea how to fix. Will take a look at it when I can, as it's quite immersion breaking.

All good mate. :)

I'll leave this one open in case it turns out to be a unique issue. I'm pretty sure they're going to be related though. Sorry for not fixing yet!

I've found, in game, if you do a save, and reload it when it happens, it resets the propper music, it may cut it when the song is done, but you can continue playing.
If it does cut out, just do again...

This is probably fixed now.

Thanks for your work on that Allofich! I'll get some new builds up soon so this is in game.

Hey Interkarma, I just updated my post to say "probably fixed" because on closer reading I see that the reporter was talking about some sort of teleport action, where as the fix I did was for loading saved games. I think the issue was probably the same but it might be good to check. I'm not sure where such a teleport action can be found, though.

I think Jay would have been testing the quest action which teleports player between dungeons. A good example is when Nulfaga teleports player to Mantellan Crux. I believe your fix should take care of this as well, but worth checking. I have an old main-quest playthrough right in front of Nulfaga somewhere in my hundreds of test saves. I'll dig it up and test when I can!

1. From outside, entered palace
2. In palace triggered teleport action to dungeon
3. In dungeon music was playing from outside, #1.
I set a recall anchor in a dungeon, went to Daggerfall city, entered Castle Daggerfall and cast recall, teleport from the throne room area to the anchor. Dungeon music played correctly, not outside music.

I don't know if there would be anything different if this was done through a teleport quest action, but I suspect this is fixed.

I tried the setmqstage command but looks like it can't set the player up to be exactly at that point. Any luck testing that save?
