Travel calculations are close to classic within the same region, but when travelling long distances (e.g. Daggerfall to Wayrest) the time results and subsequent expense are much higher than classic. These journeys can take 2x-3x longer and cost substantial gold.
The effect of inn/camp is also altered. I was used to about a 20% travel time reduction with inn in classic, but now it feels like it's only a couple of days at most. I'll have to test before I say anything too specific.
Lypyl put these calculations together very early on - long before real gold and quest time even existed in the game. I think his work on this can be considered a bit experimental, and definitely needs a tune-up.
