Discovered this while trying to reproduce another bug. If a character dies, their building discovery state will persist over to a new game and different character.
I know why this is happening, will fix soon. Parking bug report here so I don't forget.

Has this one been resolved? You and the rest of the team have been steamrolling through the bug reports lately, but I suspect this older issue is also fixed as of the latest builds.

While I haven't ran into the building discovery bug persisting todayI ran into a "escort quest" persisting started a new game and the npcs face is still on my screen guessing its the same bug
also any tips on fixing this with a console command? (without breaking any other type of quests/quest mods) I'm still in the starter dungeon but really hoping I can avoid restarting

Gosh I'd like to hear the method to the fix on this one. Just wanted to say that I'd noticed some of this, probably part of the reason some deaths on quests inside buildings would cause issues when you had to achieve something in that building, and you just continued from a save inside that building, best to just use a save outside the building beforehand.
Great to hear it has been resolved. Is the solution in 0.8.6 , as I'm thinking of trying a complete new game, but using the outside of Privateer's Hold start, which is noted as formerly a related bug.

The fix for this is in 0.8.6. Nothing special to it, just cleared building discovery state when starting a new game or loading a classic save. Restoring a DFU save has always restored discovery state, so shouldn't be related to quest issues when restoring an interior save.
