Just thought I ought to let you know of a quest issue I have run into.

I get the quest. Go to pick up some holy water or something. the lady says to go see a man in a clothes shop in another town.

I go see the priest who seems to live in a spare room at the clothes shop. He says go see the child first.

I go see the child, back in Daggerfall, she gets her exorcism. The text says something about I should deal with some daedra who might have been driven out of the child. It's a tiny house. No daedra appear. I go and see the priest. He won't talk to me. Go back to the house. Still no daedra.

When I next log in the whole lot has gone from my quest log.

Anyway I took a screenshot before it happened.

Daggerfall quest bug

Check "Finding saves" in viewtopic.php?f=30&t=313, ZIP archives can be attached to posts in this forum.

Zipped save game attached from while the quest was still in progress and showing in the quest log.

The quest is proceeding normally; it's on the sham path. I just finished it myself in your save file. (It has a bug regarding turn-in that I didn't catch somehow; once you get the idol you'll instantly complete the quest.)

Thanks - I'll know if I get that one again.

Just the directions in the quest log were confusing and didn't suggest going back to the original tavern, only to clothes shop priest.

i had the same issue
It was becose quest has two roads. Problem that there is no hint what to do next If daedra do not apear in the house. In this case player shall go back to the tavern where he met guardian and speak with girl.

1 Talk to the quest giver of your Temple.
2 Meet the child's guardian and talk to him/her.
3 Visit the child and talk to him/her.
4Head to the town mentioned by the child's guardian.
5 Find the priest(ess) in town and get the holy item.
6 Head back to the child and give him/her the holy item.
7 If a Daedroth shows up, dispose of it.
7 If no Daedroth appears, confront the guardian and get the holy item back.
8 Deliver the holy item either to the quest giver or to the priest(ess) you got it from within the time limit for your reward.
