Hello readers,

I face a very special issue with the files TRAV01I1 and TRAV01I0.

King of Worms gave me the file TRAV01I1 in PSD format, which permit to load it in GIMP and to find the different layers. But this file (and TRAV01I0, the same with colors) once loaded in GIMP loose the 3D shape of the four buttons. Let's have a look to this snapshot:
Spoiler!

The file is displayed with the online PDS viewer PSD Layers Extract and you can see the very strange phenomena: on the full preview we can see the four buttons, but when we look to the individual layer 1 to 4, the layers show only flat images, and the result coming out of GIMP is a flat image, the buttons are not seen.

My question is: where, in the PSD file, is stored the information that permit to show 3D buttons when the layers are only flat rectangles? A viewer as this one or XnView is able to show the four buttons when displaying the full image with all the layers merged, GIMP when loaded with the same 8 layers is not able to display the 3D buttons. How can four flat layers be displayed as 3D buttons?

King of Worm, do you remember how you where able to produce that?

Was this mod really abandoned at 95%?
I was really hoping to get the empty tabs back at least  I wanted to have em as a support for ppl wanting to do future translations. I hope Daneel53 is ok and gets back

Hello King of Worms !

Abandoned ? No.
The fact is that since May 2021 no evolution was done into DFU so that it could be possible to create a foreign language mod. I suppose Interkarma has other priorities, he's the master of his time dedicated to DFU. But today, to create a French mod for example that would permit to play DFU in French is still totally impossible, it is not even possible into the delivered product to change the language.

If you add the fact that i did not find any solution to the issue I explained into my above mail of 31 May, it is true that I switched since then to other tasks, waiting for evolution in DFU that would permit to play in another language that English. Because since this is mot possible, the foreign language screens are just useless.

I absolutely don't want to keep the blanck screens for me. I will send you all those that are available so that you can provide them to other translators. These screens are yours, not mine. I will send you all that I have in the following days.

Apart from that, as the other tasks are going to an end, I planed to swith back to DFU in the following weeks. It is time that I build the French screens from the blank screens, even if they will be totally useless untill it is possible to play in French with DFU. ;)

Hi Daneel,

Im very glad you are still around and thanks for the update. I was just worried if all your work was abandoned and Im very happy it is not. No rush in sending the images, now that I know you have not vanished :) Im not involved in any translations so I have no idea on how the DFU translation options progressed, all I know its in the works (or working? no idea)

I will take a look at the issues you described here, problem is, Ive read the posts and Im not sure what should I do :X
I loaded the files in photoshop, disabled the texts and exported as PNG, this should deal with all the issues I hope?

Yes sir, these two images with only one layer are what I wasn't able to obtain with Gimp : the void four buttons with their 3D shapes !

They will be added to all the other I produced.

Seems that the only remaining image that is causing me a cleaning problem is MAP100 because I must change "Imperial Province" but if I erase the text I also erase the forest and the lake that are under the text... :(

Fantastic ! I'm clearly happy to have this one done!

With this one, the set of cleaned images is complete. As promised, I compiled all the cleaned images in PNG I produced and packed them into a zip archive. I've send you a Private message with a link that will permit you to download the archive.

As already said, these images belong to you and you will do what you want with them.

Many thanks for your help. Next step on my side shall be to deposit the French texts into them in order to obtain a DREAM set in French. I will have time to do that, winter is coming! ;)

Hi Daneel,

thanks a lot, I confirm Ive downloaded the pack.

If anyone is willing to create any other language versions, I will provide him with this. I really appreciate you did this! When I worked on it years ago, I did not have translations on my mind, so I saved the files with baked in texts, which apparently was not a good idea :) You corrected this issue, and Im thankful for it. Great job. I hope the DFU translation capabilities will move on so you can finish your work, but this is a great start. :)

Just a attempt :) Any chance you still around Daneel? Do you pls have that updated font you created? It might come handy now, for video subtitles.
