Legal Reputation & the Escort 0.11.0

So I hope this topic fits under what should go into the General section of forums - if not, I apologise

I have started a new Daggerfall Unity run in version 0.11.0, and wanted to explore a part of the game I've never really dabbled with, that of legal/regional reputation. So I did some searching around, and it seems only merchant/innkeeper quests affect this towards a positive, and even then only a select few quests. For that purpose, I have tried to get the quest "the Escort" (a0c00y17), but after a good couple of real life days of trudging around all over the towns and cities of Daggerfall to get the quest offered, no merchant or innkeeper is offering it.

I wondered if anyone had some insight on this little issue? I have checked the Quest folder in Daggerfall Unity, and a0c00y17 is listed.

The game generates quests at random, so this really isn't uncommon, unfortunately. I know tehres' an option to pick guild quests from a llist, but currently nothing for commoner quests, which makes sense in the long run. Keep trying, you should get it eventually!

For increasing your reputation in a region, and with various region faction via that, I've found that Knightly Orders is by far the easiest source of rep.

My latest character is a knight in Wayrest and quite early in his career he rose to "In the eyes of the law of Wayrest, you are respected."

Really? I've been doing the Knights of the Dragon quests up to Commander, and I'm still just a commoner in the eyes of the law - are there specific knightly quests that raise your rep?

For example "The Hunter" gives:

City-State where the order is located +4
Nobility of the city-state where the order is located +2
People of the city-state where the order is located +4
Knight Order and all other factions of the city-state +2


You might just have been ulucky with which quests have been given to you.

Aye perhaps. When made available, I've usually taken the Eternal Rest quest, which gives:

Generic Knightly Order +5
Knight Order +12
City-State where the order is located +14
Nobility of the city-state where the order is located +7
People of the city-state where the order is located +14
All other factions of the city-state where the order is located +7

But still just a common citizen :/
