Do retro rendering and palletization/posterization impact performance?

Retro mode by itself should be a net performance gain as game is only rendering to a 320x200 or 640x400 target compared to, say, a full HD screen area. The posterization and palettization postprocess shaders aren't free but they are fairly cheap. The posterization shader is a bit cheaper than palettization.
