This is off topic about modding

I have been wanting this for a very long to happen and i am just wondering if you guys will think Bethesda may do this for maybe its 25th Anniversary? we have been seeing games nowadays been remade like the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for its 20th Anniversary and seeing Age of Empires I, II and III getting fully remade in 4k for its 20th Anniversary, Resident Evil, Halo and many more.

No one can really predict what Bethesda will do, but I have my opinion. Since the original code for Daggerfall was lost years ago, they'd have to start from zero to create it again. That would mean a fairly serious amount of dedicated work by a small team of developers. Once you compare that against the price point for what Daggerfall remastered would sell for (since they would almost certainly sell it for something; Zenimax needs whatever money it can get) and the expected audience, the numbers would be comparatively low and would not merit the effort. Daggerfall itself isn't a concept that sells well to the masses as compared to Morrowind or Skyrim, so the probabilities of any profit conversion really are low.

In short, I definitely doubt they'd do it.

I think you are right, it does seem very doubtful. I wonder if Bethesda would want to use the finished Daggerfall mod.

Doubtful.
But it would be a little unfair as they should start with Arena.

Its mindblowing how code for such a jewel can be lost... I remember story by Jordan Mechner, he also lost code for Prince of Persia. But he found it after a decades in some garbage his father was storing or something like that.

Anyway, to the topic, I also think that from business POV daggerfall remake is not appealing so I find the chances of that happening very slim. And even TES community in majority consists of ppl who came with Morrowind, Oblivion or just Skyrim. So those are the games which get most of the love and Arena with Daggerfall are more of the underground nature with older community of ppl who used to play the heck out of those games back in the days. And I dont see that changing, maybe after DFU is released - that is.

It would be great for the newcomers and the ones that only played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, once the Daggerfall Unity is done we could contact Bethesda about the mod and if they would be interested in using it.

I want to point out if Bethesda did do a remake for TES III: Morrowind which is probably more chances than Daggerfall they should add Port Telvannis, and the other big chunk of the land that looks like a giant C they that wasn't in the original the only part in that giant C land that was in TESIII: Morrowind was Mournhold from the Tribunal expansion.

Nah, as soon as they begin to adopt the work of non-employees, they open up a huge variety of questions about who the code belongs to, what compensation is fair, and so on. They would also very likely change the project from open source, which would kill a lot of its momentum.

Our analogue in this is OpenMW, which Bethesda has openly stated they tolerate. OpenMW has far better technical performance and the possibility of multiplayer, such that when it finally reaches version 1.0, it'll be superior to Morrowind. Bethesda lets OpenMW exist on the condition that no one tries to make money off of it and no one advocates trying to port OpenMW to devices Bethesda hasn't approved of.

They could always choose to shut such fan projects down, but typically when game development companies start to quash fan projects, their popularity drops like a rock. I would hope they would be as happy as ourselves that Daggerfall is finally entering the 21st century and that they don't have to expend any effort for it, in exchange for not getting any income from it.
