mod request: diminishing returns/soft cap for swing speed on speed stat

Post by hello »

let's face it: melee swing speed gets ridiculous at a high speed value.
the high movespeed is cool, but swing speed should be soft capped at like 70 or so in my opinion. not only does it make
our characters broken as hell, but it also gives us carpal tunnel from spamming that mouse button so fast
maybe keep it for bows though, as these feel ok i think.

Not a bad idea. I can put this in as a option into my mod. I agree with you, super high attack speeds are immersion break and can make late game feel to easy because of the op nature of maxed out swing speed.

Speaking of which, swinging a super heavy 2-handed weapon as fast as a dagger, seems also a little unrealistic to me 😀.
What about a swinging speed inversely proportional to the weapon weight? :?

That was already discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1840
