In the Fighters guild I was demoted after dropping from rep 20 to 19. I knew that in DG you didn't get demoted if you lost reputation, is it a new features?
Anyway now I'm above 20 again but they haven't promoted me back to the next rank, which seems strange. Does it work as intended?

Just wait another month and they'll promote you to the next rank. I'm not that familiar with the guild rank mechanics but I think if you neglect your duties for a while you get demoted too?

It's very intentional, DFU will also expell you from a guild if you rep drops below 0. Pretty sure classic did the first, but not the second... but I implemented this four years ago now so my recollection may be incorrect. There were discussions and what's implemented is what was agreed back then - of that I am pretty sure.

Every month your rep with every faction and person moves one point towards zero,even if it’s negative.
You can also only move up in rank 30 days after you join/rank up or down.

If your current Reputation with the guild is below the requirement for your current rank and you speak to a guild member, you get told that you have been demoted.
