[Mod] Easy Time Scale

Post by Magicono43 »

Easy Time Scale

Automates the process of changing the in-game time-scale by way of editing the value in the mod settings. These changes will then be reflected in-game whenever you load a save, start a new game, or change the mod settings in-game.

WHAT THIS MOD DOES AND WHY:
After seeing a few requests from people over the months being confused at why their in-game time-scale kept changing whenever they loaded saves. I decided to make this fairly simple mod, which basically makes the time-scale you set in the mod setting what you will have universally while playing, even if you close the game, load a save, create a new character, etc, and the mod settings can be changed at anytime even while playing from the top left drop-down menu on the pause screen. This way you can alter the time-scale between 1 and 100 at any time.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The "magic-round" system used in Daggerfall Unity is currently influenced by the in-game time-scale. So what that means is, a paralysis effect that would normally last 2 magic-rounds with the default time-scale of 12 will last approximately 10 real-life seconds. But when you change the time-scale this also changes, so if the time-scale is set to "1" that 2 round paralysis will now last around 2 real-life minutes, or 120 seconds! And the inverse for faster time-scales like 60, where that same paralysis effect will now only last 2 real-life seconds. Hopefully these systems can be detached at some point from one another, but currently this is an issue you will have to potentially deal with when changing your time-scale drastically, just keep that in mind.

Feel free to leave any suggestions and such, I'm very open to anything, and hopefully you find this addition enjoyable or enhances your Daggerfall Unity experience in some way.

Possible Future Feature Ideas & Concepts To Be Added:
- Maybe something similar to "Dynamic Timescale" I think was the mod name in Oblivion that would change the timescale based on the current context your character was in or action they were doing.
