Base Weapon Damage

I've been searching for where base weapon damage is defined and can't seem to turn anything up. I know a custom ItemTemplates.json can be used to tweak durability, weight and whatnot. But what about base min/max damage? Not finding it in the scripts section.

I'd like to experiment with this to say, make broadswords do the same damage as longswords, or flails equal to warhammers. So it's more of an aesthetic choice. Or say, I'd like to make bows more lethal? From there, possibly some more complicated tweaking based on my preferences.

Apologies if I'm missing something obvious. Would appreciate if someone could kindly point me in the right direction.
