Is there a concept of paid mods in the community? Theres so much potential and room for expansion here with big new features with mods and engine development.

I don't think the topic has ever come up. People can make agreements among themselves if they choose. but there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Coders are one of the best-paid careers, earning somewhere between $25 and $50 USD per hour.

2. Making a mod generally requires several dozen hours of work before it can be called reasonably finished (this playlist shows how long the process really is, for a medium-complexity mod).

3. Combining the hourly wage and number of hours required, a programmer would probably expect to be paid somewhere between $200 and $2500 for the work involved.

If a mod is that important and someone has money to pay for it, I suppose that's something they can work out :)

That would really depend on what it is about. If its something I resonate with and I feel capable of, than I would consider it. I will not do any coding, but I enjoy creating art.
