Re: [MOD] Distant Terrain

2.4.2 is working perfectly! Thank you so much for the fixes, playing on lower-end machines is now far more viable :)

Re: [MOD] Distant Terrain

To reproduce: - Have Terrain Transition disabled - Go to the fast travel menu - Pick any location - Confirm the fast travel The fast travel menu won't go away at that point like it's supposed to. Instead you'll have to press ESC. At this point the screen will be black, but you'll hear game sounds. I...

Re: [MOD] Distant Terrain

2.4.1 definitely fixed the leak, awesome work!

If you need more info on pinning down the fast travel bug when TT is disabled, let me know... though Midknightprince pretty much covered everything in their post.

Re: [MOD] Distant Terrain

If it's just a matter of triggering Resources.UnloadUnusedAssets(), wouldn't that mean that opening and closing a GUI while indoors should halt the mod-related leak? My reasoning being that since you're indoors, the outdoor assets shouldn't be considered in use... and thus the leak present in the mo...

Re: Daggerfall Remaster w/future builds

Do you expect the RAM and VRAM requirements to be lower with the new version due to all the compression/etc. techniques used? If so, any estimate on how much of an impact it'll make? I've yet to try the pack since it's well out of my system specs (I've only got 2GB of VRAM and 8GB of RAM), so I'm cu...

Re: [MOD] Distant Terrain

Yes. My tests (after a lot of trial and error to figure out what was going on, since I originally thought it was a DFU problem) were with a fresh installation, a new save, and *only* Distant Terrain in terms of mods. I don't use texture mods (or any non-dfmod mods) anyways since my system can't hand...

Re: [MOD] Distant Terrain

BUG REPORT DETAILS: The "Terrain Transition" option causes a major memory leak. If left alone, it will use up all available RAM until the computer locks/crashes. If you save (and reload) your game indoors, the leak will not start until you exit to an outdoor environment. Even upon re-entering an in...

Re: New to Daggerfall, is it better to start with vanilla?

Ah, I had a hunch that I was misinterpreting the roadmap when it came to quest stuff... and turns out I was right :) I think I must have skimmed past the actual quest section (0.4) and instead focused on the "Progress related spell and quest support" bulletpoints that are mentioned in the 0.6-0.9 se...

New to Daggerfall, is it better to start with vanilla?

Hey there everyone, I'm brand new to playing Daggerfall and was wondering if it'd be better to start by just playing the vanilla experience rather than Daggerfall Unity... at least for the time being? For some background: I love that era of graphics (so no issues with it looking 'dated'), have playe...
