Re: "Implement Jump skill formula, refine movement speed, and tune gravity to better match classic"

I played Daggerfall on a Pentium 166 MMX and 24MB of RAM when I was growing up. Daggerfall's gravity definitely felt very "off"; I remember feeling very floaty at all times, like I did actually have weight but there was a delay in gravity's reaction to my moving (if that makes any sense). Movement i...

Re: Daggerfall Spiritual Successor Project (Artists Needed!)

I haven't done any sort of art in years, but I might try a few things to see if I can find some fun in it again.

Either way, I just wanted to let you guys (Indigo, Julian, Ted) know that I found myself shouting "Hell yes!" upon reading this news. My wallet is ready.

Daggerfall (classic) view enhancer for Linux/MacOS

I finally got around to getting my "Eye of Argonia" alternative working, albeit barely. This is more of a learning exercise for me but I figured some people may find it useful if you're still playing classic Daggerfall. I'm aware the code is sloppy; I'm open to suggestions if anyone here is experien...

Re: Daggerfall Setup for Linux

I stand corrected. I guess it did need some testing. :) I've added a check for the icon; if no "Desktop" directory is found it should just continue without creating an icon. If there's an easy way of discovering a "Desktop" directory without adding an exception for each language then I'm interested ...

Re: Daggerfall Setup for Linux

Hello. Testing isn't so much needed with Ubuntu (it's what I'm usually on), but I've updated the first post with a new link to v0.53. The view-based option should work now (although the Y-axis may be inverted by default) and Daggerfall will now close the DOSBox window on exit. I hope you get some us...

Re: Daggerfall Setup for Linux

Hi there. I wouldn't mind trying to help you but I'd need more detail. In what way does it not work?

Re: Daggerfall Setup for Linux

Hmm, I just tried it out on a fresh Ubuntu 16.04 VM and it completed without error (icon, etc.) ... Maybe something was changed on your particular install? Line 149 is this: printf "dosbox -conf %s/.config/Daggerfall/dagger.conf" "${HOME}" > "${HOME}"/bin/Daggerfall; Either way, glad to hear you got...

Re: Daggerfall Setup for Linux

Hi fredmingarry. I've uploaded another temporary link. I've added a feature to prevent saved games from being deleted during the uninstall process if chosen, so the version number has changed to 0.52. This hasn't been built in months so it's possible a bug or two has crept in; post if you have any p...

Re: Daggerfall Setup for Linux

I haven't been able to find the files that the OP was offering once upon a time. I don't need them, just curious to see the work. I'm considerably more interested in learning how to mod Daggerfall itself, using any available linux OS. I'm using ubuntu, & its fine for me, but I would try another OS ...
