Using the attached save, in the "Inventory" navigate to the "Ingredients" tab. On the "Ingredients" tab, verify two stacks of rubies: one with 2; one with 7. I am unable to get these to combine these into a single stack of 9.

I don't mind the question, don't worry. I'm glad. The simplest answer is that everyone really has a different preference. One person will be satisfied by having undead in the dungeon.
