You're perfectly right that if the only rule is to match classic then you end up copying bugs too, so that can't be a hard rule. My rule of thumb is that I'm after Daggerfall Unity bugs specifically. There are legions of issues with classic's game data that we inherit the moment our players connect...

Some single-block exteriors (1x1 blocks with CUST prefix) are not centred to terrain area like other blocks. They need an adjustment in world space so they align with world coordinates correctly when compared with classic. I'd say the exterior automap isn't taking this into account. I've never notic...

The quest is being executed as it's scripted. Jay has resolutions for these in his PR, so I'll mark this one as resolved.

This one is definitely more pronounced in DFU.

Loot containers such as this one receive an alignment step that takes a best-effort approach at aligning with surface below. The alignment logic is probably hitting an edge case that causes it to push upwards a bit instead. I'll take a look when I can.

Sometimes action records aren't correct in Daggerfall's game data. Would you have time to test this same lever in classic to see if it matches? Otherwise, I'll check later when I can.

The "modnpcrep" console command is for testing quest progression with static quest NPCs (e.g. Queen Aubk-i, Mynisera). It doesn't have any relation to mobile NPC responses. There best we have for mobile NPCs is "talk_npcsknoweverything".

Cheers. I actually updated the questlist notes on this same quest only about a week ago. A0C00Y07, Commoners, N, 0, 0, Passed with issues. Does not check victory condition correctly. Interkarma, can you recall why there are two entries in the enums here? They both map to the same integer 287 and entry in item templates but the latter isn't used anywhere in the codebase, but maybe is what's used by some quests.
