Probably... the Pentium II was released in 1997, one year after Daggerfall, and it was a quite radical improvement. Probably they didn't foresee the consequences...

Now that I saw that Cthulhuesque 64-block dungeon on Twitter, I can envision an Ultima Underworld-like game taking place entirely inside one dungeon, but with all the features of Daggerfall Unity. I suppose most people who follow Daggerfall Unity are fans of the original game, so it makes sense that we like large dungeons more than the general population. I think I would leave that setting as in vanilla by default (although I would probably try some games with smaller and larger as well), but...

I think that splash screen looks gorgeous. The intro video is also great but they are different things and not mutually exclusive, right? The splash screen is supposed to be shown during the time that the game unavoidably takes to load, while the intro video has a fixed (longer) duration but should ...

I don't think it should be out of the question as a mod in 2018. Games often take tens of gigabytes now. I would install that mod!

"Home province wilderness" (which could resolve to forest, swamps, desert, tundra, mountains, etc.) could make sense there.

I have always found them very realistic and atmospheric too. And the feeling of relief when you finally find the dungeon exit after hours of crawling and you emerge to a peaceful night with those crickets! It's great that the game is so customizable though.
