Re: Daggerfall Unity VR with the Vive Pro

As an update, I'm not dead. My stuff's in storage as I wait to close on a house!

Re: Daggerfall Unity VR with the Vive Pro

Unity might have support for that, I'm not sure, but I don't really have a way of ensuring my code is device-agnostic. So I'm going to say no, it probably won't work properly, unless you know for a fact that the MR works really well with Steam's VR toolkit, and even then some of the alignment of wea...

Old video I made showing how to dump video memory

I forgot that I made a recording of the method I used for a random task here a year or two ago. We couldn't find the horse graphics, so I made a super hackey method: I compiled DOSBox with debugging support and then dumped two frames from VGA video memory. The frames were identical except for having...

Re: Artist request: low-poly 3D gauntlets/gloves

Those look awesome! Thanks!

I've been away a bit, and working on an adventure game for my niece, so I've been paused on DFU: VR. However I finished everything up and should be able to get back to it now.

Re: Artist request: low-poly 3D gauntlets/gloves

Yup, low poly would look great I think. It's up to you, I mean, the buckler could have a large number of points in the circle instead of being crazy blocky, and have an extruded boss and such. I just think the lower poly gloves look really fitting in the game world

Re: Artist request: low-poly 3D gauntlets/gloves

The material might need some tweaking, as it darkens to black very easily. I don't know much about texturing though, but there might be some ways to give it a leathery material without doing UV mapping. Or maybe someone else can help with this aspect. Would you be interested in making basic weapons ...

Re: Daggerfall Unity VR with the Vive Pro

With many thanks to a model by quasifex, here's a quick demo showing how your hands will appear in VR! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2jt3qb5WIE Pointing will be used for interacting with things, or as a hint that something can be interacted with. It'll also have to grip your weapons, which will m...

Re: Macro handlers and how to add them

This might be a very basic question, but what exactly is a macro in the context of Daggerfall? What could be accomplished if we create our own?

Re: Artist request: low-poly 3D gauntlets/gloves

Oh yeah, also, mirroring it in a 3D tool is probably the best way, and exporting it as a left and right glove. I'll do that after I animate it though (if I can get animation to import), so as to not require duplicating the animation.
