One solution would be making magical items that can be used to escape those situations always available in some kind of shop, temple, order or guild. Basically an item of recall and an item of undeniable access (Open) would be enough. Maybe those specific items could be made non-repairable (if magic...

My personal opinions as a player: I'd probably activate an option to have something more realistic than a randomized potion list every time the "buy potions" button is clicked. Amazing progress, keep it up! It looks gorgeous and makes me want to play even though I never tried arena at its time (only Daggerfall). By the way, I didn't know some of the most iconic tracks in Daggerfall's soundtrack were in Arena already. I have always loved the track sounding in the first part...

It's a pity that the models have been lost (although not as much pity as the code, which would have saved Interkarma and the rest of contributors a lot of work!)
