Re: Daggerfall Unity Models Overhaul

Well, speaking about proportions, I probanly unintentionally made models a bit less bulky, but this picture proves that in general they are quite the same. http://pic.fullrest.ru/XrCmKwP0.jpg Also, your replies are rather discouraging, because they have not got any hints on how to improve the models...

I dont quite understand what style you have in mind, because I was trying to make almost a replica of original model. Does it mean that you offer to get rid of the original style of Daggerfall?

Re: Discussion on future 3D modelling

http://pic.fullrest.ru/XhazQF6Q.gif This model of the Vampire has 7412 polygons. I hope it fits visual style of the original game. I think it is a little bit closer to the original than Thief style models. https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/elderscrolls/images/1/17/%D0%94%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B2%D0%BD%...

Re: Daggerfall Unity Models Overhaul

These animations are just random motion-captured animations I've found in the web. I'm an awfull animator, actually. Moreover - attacking animation for the guard is not supposed to remain in the final model - the original sprite has no attack animation, it is just an NPC. Here is the Ancient Vampire...

Re: Daggerfall Unity Models Overhaul

Mods and replaces now work perfectly - well, except the sky, it is still old-style. As for updates, I've found my old model from the times of DaggerXL, and tweaked it a little. It still needs good textures, but seems to look rather close to the original: http://pic.fullrest.ru/X2DR0nRT.gif http://im...

Re: Videos

Both before pictures are on the left. And these are not details, these are digital noise due to upscaling. As for the mood, it is possible to recolour the picture a bit and lower brightness in highlights a little. Will it help?

Re: Discussion on future 3D modelling

I think, vanilla style (and not vanilla quality) models would fit perfectly. Look at the retextures in nearby threads. They fit perfectly though they are a lot bigger and not limited by 16-colours pallete. The polycount is only a limitation of an old engine. The original sprites are mostly rendered ...

I continue working on video replacers. I'm currently trying to figure out how it works. I'm trying to convert the movies I've made before in ogv format so as the engine could detect it. Also I'm going to rework the rest of them. Most arguable is (and always was) the destiny of live-action video. The...

Re: Discussion on future 3D modelling

Oh, Disney cartoons can be extremely dark and sinister - just remember the Black Cauldron! https://st.kp.yandex.net/images/kadr/1927178.jpg http://pic.fullrest.ru/WeJEsw2M.png This is a perfect example of Daggerfall style. Models should not be low-poly - it makes only impression of limited resources...
