But your version good too. More like original and for in-game music.
Om XL forums I remember was epic cool version of mine theme.

Wooo, great versions on the Xlforums!
Therefore I reworked mine, and i've uploaded it on soundcloud (better sound quality than Vocaroo), I have also added some more tracks
I will add new content gradually, so keep an eye on it
Check it and tell me what do you think about it!

Dan Goodale did a mostly complete remake of the OST, not sure anyone's going to do it better than this guy.

Re: Daggerfall's music Remastering
Hey all,
I was just thinking about doing this exact thing for the remastering of DF. I mean, if the game is going to look and control all fancy and HD-like, why not have the audio experience be the same?
I really do love everything I've heard on this page, but unfortunately, if those composers didn't give their permission, then it's probably in bad form to include them in the Daggerfall Unity releases. I hear what Tirbourse is doing, and I like it, and would really like to help out. I have many years of experience with composing and sound design in general, and definitely have the tools that could somewhat easily take the existing midi files and transform them into really nice orchestral pieces.
I wouldn't want to change much, though; we all still want to hear what we've always heard while playing the game.

Re: Daggerfall's music Remastering
Hi!
I'm very busy, but i keep working on the musics
Sound very well yes, but can we use these tracks for Dtfu?
It would be a good save of time if we can, but i thought Interkarma said that we must fit as close as the original game.
These tracks may sound good when you hear them, with all the re-arrangements, but i think, it would be different used ingame, (too much Holywood style in my opinion haha) we should stay like it was in the original
These tracks where perfect for a movie, but i think it's a bit too much for a video game, especially a role playing game like Daggerfall
And we can talk about sound design, do we keep the originals 8bits sounds? Also a lot of work to do, more we are, faster we work!
We should also talk about the format of the music, in the original game, musics where played "live" with the MIDI synth of the game, today we could mix the waves by fading in or out 2 tracks, of course, we can work on tonality and bpm to make it sound natural.
I don't now if i'm really clear, english is not my native language
What do you think?

Come on and help me, there is so much thing to do! More than 100 tracksI like it, and would really like to help out. Re: Daggerfall's music Remastering
Here is a whole list of orchestrations and remixes:
http://teatimecoder.com/daggerfall-music
One thing that could be done to avoid the need for permission for the files is to have a custom soundtrack folder, that way they are not included in the Unity release, but anyone can use other files instead of the original ST. Another bonus from this would be if someone doesn't like one version of the music they could use another remix instead rather than forcing them to use what we think is the best.

Re: Daggerfall's music Remastering
This is a great discussion! I just wanted to point out there are plans for being able to import / replace assets like music, it's just on the back-burner right now as core game mechanics need to take precedence. So it will possible to import music in the future.

Re: Daggerfall's music Remastering
Hi there, I'm new here but didn't find a appropriate topic to introduce myself.
Anyway had a little chat with this guy, who remastered ALL of Daggerfall soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRjHhsU ... pU4dYqwVP0
He told me that I applied for the position a while ago, but is still willing to help. I know that you will be able to add any music you want, but a proper link/mod/topic can be a nice improvement

Re: Daggerfall's music Remastering
Hey there! Welcome to the forums. A great place to introduce yourself is the Big Hello Thread.
Daggerfall Unity uses all classic assets by default, enhancements to art and music are delivered via the mod system. Information on the technical side of modding can be found on these pages.Naotib wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 11:46 am Anyway had a little chat with this guy, who remastered ALL of Daggerfall soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRjHhsU ... pU4dYqwVP0

There are a couple of other music remasters if you have a scan through the Creator's Corner forum. Feel free to create your own topic to discuss others.
