Unlock the guilds for members at night

Talk about the mods or features you'd like to see in Daggerfall Unity. Give mod creators some ideas!

Unlock the guilds for members at night

Having the guilds be locked when you belong to them is rather silly IMO. What would you have to edit to change this?

A similar benefit is already in classic. One example is the Mages Guild:

I don't recall it being 24/7 in classic but the idea's there, at least.

Interesting would be a mod which lets you enter the halls 24/7, but lets you "call guild members" to the guild in the middle of the night. And he would refer to it by saying "<Player> you summoned me at this late hour in the night, what do you want?" (possibly you could let the player wait [let him select who he wants to see in the guild] at the door and the mage would enter before you).

It would be nice, but I'm expecting this privilege just for high ranking members. I think that if I novice call other high ranking members in the middle of the night for no valid reason, it could be a reason for him to be expelled from the guild :lol: :lol: ;)

I remember Zaric Zhakaron saying on one of his streams that in classic you could always find the quest giver (not other services) in the guilds no matter the time of day. I didn't check yet, nor know if anybody did...

As I recalled it that worked if you did a quest in the guild hall that took your loiter to after the guild hall hours, usually the guard the guild quest. If I saved right after that before turning in the quest then reloaded that save then the quest giver was gone. This was the only time I noticed that but wasn't really done in a testing way as I usually entered the hall right after it opened then took a quest.

AFAIK in Daggerfall the questgiver will always remain so long as he/she has given you a quest. If there's no active quest, he/she is liable to disappear as anyone else.

I rarely do that, if I did it was for a run here to cast a sleep or open spell. I usually forget about that option until after I have traveled then it is a I should've done that. When I have the port back has usually occurred during guild hours so no danger of the quest giver not being there.

Define active? The only time I have experienced the quest giver not being there was after a guard the guild quest where I saved and quit the game before getting the reward then when I loaded the save the quest giver wasn't at his spot. I just figured that since I was in the cell while loitering everything stayed loaded but if the cell was reloaded when it was 3am everyone would be asleep and not at their posts.
