[mod idea] Sky crossover

Talk about the mods or features you'd like to see in Daggerfall Unity. Give mod creators some ideas!

"Enhanced sky" like skybox, but using the classic color palettes (red, yellow, lavender skies, etc.) that do so much for the game mood...

I made a sort of similar mod wish a time ago, asking for a classic sky texture without the drawn horizon which doesn't visually fit with modded DFUs increased sight range.

I use the enhanched sky mod but it feels off combined with the classic Daggerfall aesthetic.

Is the source for that mod available somewhere? Ive dumped the code before but I think there were some images involved too and those dont get dumped.

Seasonal day night cycles would be nice to add, shorter days in winter, longer in summer etc

Thanks Ralzar, I will grab that repo later on and see if i can figure some stuff out. I wont be doing the colours unless we want the LSD version of Enhanced Sky, colourblind so I cant judge if it looks right :D

And thanks again. Once I have an idea on how it works Ill hit you up. I originally looked at it because I wanted to move the sun a bit further south to make shadows in cities more interesting, they are very straight atm especially since the buildings are hardly ever rotated, they mostly face north-south or east-west

Just throwing it out there now:

Any chance of making the sky use some kind of "wallpaper" sprite? So you could do something like use an edited version of the classic sky pictures?

Not really, at least with what I know. I dont know how the normal version would look with Distant Terrain and my terrain sampler, DT is broken by some changes Hazelnut made for me but that should give distant mountains since mine are really high.

The classic sky setup is actually quite complicated when you look at how it works and very different from Enhanced Sky
