Each attribute can be permanently increased (leveling up, or a wearable item), or take temporary buffs / debuffs (spells & diseases etc.) which work off timers - when a timer wears off, it triggers an event which removes the effect. Nothing too major - it's just numbers for the time being, but I can't help but get excited about the possibilities!
