In-game mod support

Post by intenscia »

I’m Scott from the gaming community ModDB.com. We recently launched mod.io, an open API for developers to add mod support to their game.

A fan of Daggerfall Unity mentioned we should reach out, as you might benefit from taking a look at mod.io, as a way of making mods more accessible. I reached out to Gavin and wanted to continue the conversation here with the DF developers.

We are working hard on enabling creative communities, have a Unity Engine plugin built (work ongoing), and have had great success with 0 A.D. another open source project that uses mod.io and just ticked over 10,000 mod downloads.

It be great to know if we can help, either way good to meet and keep up the work on DF + modding!

Welcome to the forums Scott. I appreciate you taking the time to post here so that it has the eyes of everyone involved. I look forward to further discussion around this. :)

I would love to see Mod.io support in DFU.

It would give us a central place to put our mods :)

We are currently talking to the OpenXcom team as well to see if we can help them with a central integrated repository.
