Armor Rating Confusion

Apologies if this has been asked before. I'm noticing that the defense bonuses for armor pieces are different from classic. Leather grants +3, iron grants +7, and steel+9 in DFU. In classic it appears that leather grants +1, iron grants +3, and steel grants +4.

Further adding to my confusion is this UESP page (https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Armor) that lists the bonuses seen in DFU. Looks like the bonuses you see in classic are the ratings from that table divided by 2 and rounded down. Are the bonuses shown in Classic's UI incorrect?

I believe that classic UI incorrectly displays the armour - this was a bug identified by Allofich IIRC over a year ago.
