Is it possible to know the rule for success/failure when brought to court?

Post by Cliffworms »

Hi!

Since it is not mentioned in Daggerfall's official guide, has it been possible to learn what the rule is to determine innocence/guilty at court during Daggerfall's Unity development?

Other than the gravity of the crime you are accused of, I read somewherethat Streetwise has an impact if you lie about your innocence and that Etiquette works when you debate your innocence. And the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood can help you win your case if you are a member.

Allofich worked this out when he developed the court UI. You can see the results in DaggerfallCourtWindow,cs.

The skills used depend on your plea and a few other factors. The thieves guild can rescue you from thieving related crimes.

Thank you very much Interkarma! It's insightful to see how it works exactly.
I'm working on an Oblivion mod that brings back the court system. Everything's in place, but my rule for innocence was either too clement or too harsh, so I'll be able to make a better one with this. :)
