Win_x64_0.7.91: Character reset to 'Nameless' mage [RESOLVED]

I was playing along, after Ely's betrayal destroyed my rep, I was getting rep up for Wayrest and accidentally accepted the broken "Daedra's Heart" quest, which effectively auto-fails. I realized this when I clicked the NPC again and encountered the "You get no response." dialogue. I attempted to load a previous save and then this happened. I am not able to load or save. These screenshots are the best representation I can give since I am unable to save. Of note is the game kept the character's "Affiliations" and "History" (the story part, not the advantages and disadvantages).

Thanks for report. I'd say this one is being caused by an exception during load. I've fixed similar issues before.

If this happens again, please exit game and zip up your "output_log.txt" and "quest_log.txt" files, and attach here. This should help me track down what went wrong during restore that left your character in that state.

So I had had a couple of weird problems with a particular game where picking up items suddenly had the spinning coins. I was avoiding a quest that was not completable because I would be telported to a dungeon full of harpies that I could not hit as I had just turned 3rd and only had elven weapons. I digress. I went to another town. Checked into an inn. And look a pile of stuff in the attic. Holy crap! I'm Naked! I have someone else's face. i have no wagon or horse. For some reason I can still draw my sword. Sound like a great quest if it weren't a bug. Reloaded the game and did not have the same problem.

I think I may be able to reproduce this or something similar. I recently had a save game where I just completed a mages guild quest (cure insomnia). I return to the guild (starting from my save game), collect the reward, then ask for another quest. I always get a guard the mages guild for the next 3 hours. If I die during that quest and then reload I get a black screen with a cross-hair. If I hit esc the world appears along with the menu. If I go to my character sheet I get Blank Mage the naked homeless man. If I try to load I will need to switch characters.

Hopefully someone else will be able to reproduce this.
