Around 2003 an Alpha of the Daggerfall spanish translation was uploaded in the page ClanDlan by an user caller Nightwolf. I ignore the state of the translation but it claimed to be feature nearly complete (books, missions and intereface plus modified images). Maybe It is buggy an unpolished, no idea, but it could be of some help in the future Dagerfall Unity translation.
Greetings!

I don't mean to be harsh, but that translation is very incomplete.
Only the main quests were translated
No books translated.
Almost all images were translated.
No special characters or accented letters.
Several grammatical errors.
I don't doubt that that could be useful, but I think the game needs a better version, or at least a full one.

Agree.
Today I've installed it with vanilla daggerfall for testing and, in fact, it is an alpha version, never finished.
I'll be finishing my work with the Archaeologists soon. When that's done, I'll do some translating. I'm going to reserve the Fighters Guild quests for me to do.

It's okay, there's no hurry. If I am not overburden, the main quests should be completed in less than 2 weeks.

Weekly update #3
Main quests 100% complete
Spoiler!
- 81 textures translated. Some textures, have upscaling problems, I will open a new topic in the corresponding sector to see if I can solve this.
Alright, in order for me to make a Spanish version for both vanilla and my HD UI replacement I need the following treatment of vanilla assets:
This is an example, but you can notice how I reproduced (using pixels) the font used and wrote a translation in separated white color and in a certain position. This allows me to have the words and the position of the text already defined, and the following step for me is to mask those letters (that's why they have to be 100% white) scale the image up, and apply the series of effects that makes the letters have the final look.
Why do I require this from someone else? first of all, for consistency sake, since I'm not familiar with the nomenclature used in this translation. Second, because of time constraints, I'm tight of spare time, even for my own things, so every assistance would push this thing forward quicker.
Of course, there will be issues to discuss, such as words that don't fit certain spaces very well. For the majority of cases edits to the original graphics can be made to accommodate to this, such as widening the "comprar" bottom of that image, something that is quite easy and have no real downside functionality-wise.
So, that's it, simple addition of white pixel letters in vanilla assets, I would say that no big graphical skills should be required.

I'd like to say I understand, but in the reality i don't
Jokes apart, I can only help you right now by showing you the translated images, because I'm pretty busy with the quests:
That's the folder where I upload the translation, there you can view or download the already translated and upscaled textures.
The process I do is:
1: Upscale the images with the waifu upscaler (x5; denoise level 0)
2: With Photoshop, I clean the part where the text is.
3: I translate the image.
I use 2 fonts: Upheaval and Daggerfall (modified with Spanish characters)
