0.10.11 - 1gp Quest Rewards [RESOLVED]

Post by Sandro »

Almost every quest from non-guild/knightly order factions offers me a grand reward of 1 gold. Rarely they'll offer some random item instead. This happens with questgivers among commoners in taverns as well as nobles and royalty. Is this a save corruption problem? Nothing's wrong with the objectives or quests themselves. What handles the rewards for quests?

This is a known regression in 0.10.8: https://github.com/Interkarma/daggerfal ... /pull/1585

One of my more amusing bugs I think.

I submitted a fix already.

You wanted a gamesave to check the fix, but what are the requirements?
Some running quest with a one gold reward, right before it's turned in, or something else? Looks like the best place to ask :)

I'm fairly confident it's fixed, but I've not confirmed by testing. I've not asked for a savegame to test because it's random so there's no way to provide one, once the quest's been offered the reward has already been calculated.

I guess I should've been a bit more thorough with the search function. I admit I found it funny the first time when a noble offered me one coin like I'm some peasant servant. I'll keep an eye on the github from now on. Thanks.

I'm watching some streamer using 0.10.10, and he just got offered quest A0C01Y03 in a tavern for a 1 gold reward... [PS yup, still plenty of 1 gold quests]
So it may not be totally fixed :(

Build 0.10.11

I've been grinding quests that have given normal reward. Talked to a random tavern npc and got:

Same here. I tested for this bug using Windows 64-bit Build 0.10.11, on a clean save with no mods installed. I started a new game outside of the Privateer's Hold, fast traveled to Gothway Garden and found the first quest giver in one of the taverns. Quest offered was for one gold.
