[RESOLVED 0.10.8] Enemies repeatedly interrupt their attack to draw bow in melee range

Not a bug per se, but possibly an unintended effect as a result of recent changes in the latest patch - related to enemy interactions and how they use their ranged weapons/spells. I've only seen this in the most recent patch 0.10.7, until yesterday I was playing on a previous build and this wasn't a thing.

The problem
When the player is in melee range, human enemies will consistently interrupt their melee swing to draw their bows. There is little to no downtime between these two animations. Occasionally, the player moving in and out of melee range will cause them to change between their melee and bow several times without actually attacking.

Issue 1: Some of the time, they will also fire an arrow upon rapidly switching to their bow - again in melee range - which will often be a successful hit on the player with little way for them to react. Other times, they may unexpectedly do a melee attack after switching from their melee weapon, to their bow, back to their melee weapon in the span of perhaps 2 seconds.

Issue 2: This causes a break in the flow of combat & how players approach spacing in the game. At least for myself, the intuitive way to fight is to approach, draw out an attack from the enemy and then swing. This issue however makes their actions unpredictable and janky, especially when unexpectedly hit with an arrow. This probably affects melee-combat based classes in particular such as knights and rogues which rely on this intuitive spacing quite a bit.

I assume that this isn't an intended effect, and (my extremely uneducated guess) a consequence of changes to the way enemies attack, especially how they've been made to use their ranged attacks more. I'll try to get a clip of this in action sometime too.

Has anybody else noticed this occur? Apparently there hasn't been any mention of it, at least in the forum searches we've done thus far, which is understandable. Again I doubt that this is an explicit bug compared to an unforeseen result of scripting changes.

I've seen the same behaviour but I play with the Enhanced AI setting enabled so figured it was due to that. If you are playing without that setting turned on and still see the same thing it might be worth investigating.

Ah, thank you! Glad to know it'll be addressed. I hadn't thought to check the github page.
