In classic, if you hold down the sneak key (it's always set to mouse 2 for me personally), while riding the horse, or cart, you trot.
Your guy goes slower, and the sound is different.
I thought it worked before in DFU, and maybe it's just a wip, but just in case, I'm putting this here, if it's a bug, my bad..

It was working before, and looks like it was taken out, probably without realization that you are supposed to be able to sneak while on a horse or cart, when a change was made a while back. I'm submitting a fix for it.

Its back in according to GitHub.
I'll be watching for the commit so I could check this out, thank you Allofich !
