Following up on this, do both DFU and classic now allow a character with Immunity to Paralysis (regardless of the existence/non-existence of Immunity/Weakness to Magic) to always resist spider and scorpion paralysis effects? Just trying to determine whether the DFU wiki at https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Tes2Mod:Dagger ... ifferences needs to be updated, or if everything is working as in classic. (See also viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3157&start=10#p42311.)

This has not changed in DFU and still works as described many times in the past.
Interkarma wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2020 11:22 pm High Elves are immune to paralysis unless you intentionally give them Low Tolerance or Critical Weakness. Even then, they retain a much higher resistance (LT=75%, CW=50%) than any other race so afflicted (LT=25%, CW=0%).

Good, thanks. JorisVanEijden mentioned in the linked bug report that spider/scorpion paralysis was transmitted by spell, so it was unclear whether magic immunity/resistance/low tolerance/critical weakness would still come into play, but apparently it now won't either in DFU or classic, so it's a moot discussion.

To be fair, it was pretty cheesy... Everyone did it because it was free points. What DFU does is an acceptable change, imo, and makes sense, if not exactly intuitive.

This thread brings in my head another exploit I am constantly using :) I'm not sure if it should be cleared, or maybe let this be dealt with an overhaul mod and not the base game :

Critical weakness to paralysis is the easiest critical weakness to counter, because free action can be cast while paralyzed. This means, as long as your character has mana (I sometimes do a no-mana char but then you should have enough disadvantages to pick immunity), you can free yourself from any paralysis for less than 15 mana. Sure free action has a duration, but it adds up so quickly while leveling it's not even a drawback.

It's strange, because it basically make cure paralysis useless. This spell is high cost with a chance to fail, while free action is one of the cheapest spell in the game.
