[Release] Reshade.ini for 0.12.3 - Darker Dungeons and better outside lighting

Post by Kaelis »

This gives dungeons a bit more darkness though you can survive easily without a torch. It's meant to strike the balance between dark dungeons and playability so that lighting has a moody dynamic feel. Best played with candle spell or torch in inventory.

Also its been balanced to look a bit more dynamic and light in daylight. Deeper shadows and the best I could manage for what could pass for volumetric lighting on the buildings (reflective lighting in shadows). Its really just balancing contrast, gamma, and exposure for the most part. Screenshots below

1) So make sure to grab this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/daggerfallunity/mods/144

2) I also use post processing from here (though this won't necessarily be needed for this to look basically the same):
viewtopic.php?t=694

3) Reshade from here if you don't already have it: https://reshade.me/

4) This is the .ini file for the reshade, goes in directory with Daggerfallunity.exe, just use "home" key in game and select the "Daggerfall-Unity-Testing.ini" ini from drop down File here: https://ufile.io/nagh5cjt

These are the lighting settings in advanced settings (daggerfall unity) that I balanced the preset around:

Dungeon Ambient Light = 1.0
Night Ambient Light = 1.0
Player Torch Light = 1.0
