Quest NPC came with me

So I got a quest from a temple. Deliver some twigs to a sick person.
I get to the house and click on the NPC. He pops onto my HUD as follower, without any kind of text pop-up. Which surprised me, because the quest was pretty clear I was just to deliver the twigs and return.
So I load and try again, this time I get a text pop-up where he thanks me. No follower etc, everything acts as normal.
I included the savegame, but I can't seem to reproduce the bug.
Edit: maybe the first time I was so quick to enter the house and click the NPC some behaviour hadn't finished loading?
