Instantly hunted in 0.10.26 but not 0.10.24

Instantly hunted in 0.10.26 but not 0.10.24

Not sure if this is expected but:

In 0.10.24 I had taken to boosting pickpocket by casting Invisible and running around selecting villagers. When invisibility was running out, I'd get on my horse and travel to the next city I was headed for.

I upgraded to 0.10.26 today and when visiting the first city (after spending a lot of in-game hours in a dungeon) I'm instantly hunted by local guards for pickpocketing (when I let them capture me). I have not been to Graybeth for at least a few days of game time at this point.

I loaded the same save in 0.10.24 and the guards are not hunting me.

I'm not sure if it's expected, but it's certainly new behaviour.

I'm attaching a save. If you load it in 0.10.24 and 0.10.26 and run into the town and find a guard, you should very quickly notice the difference in reaction. :lol:

The same thing happened to me. If I use 10.26, I get instantly hunted for "criminal conspiracy" (which triggers when your legal rep is very low). I did have a charge for criminal conspiracy in that region from several in-game months before, but I used console commands to clear it and guards in 10.24 had never tried to go looking for me after that.

Hmm. Maybe I should try clearing the charge via debugger commands in 0.10.26 and see if it "builds up" again. Maybe it's just a difference with the way 0.10.24 and 0.10.26 handle this internally and it would not have happened if playing "pure" 0.10.26 from the beginning.

I couldn't find a way to do this from the console. I ended up editing the SaveData.txt to set "crimeCommitted": "None".

Now I guess I need to run around doing this in 0.10.26 to see if it recurs.

Looks like 0.10.27 has a fix that might be related. On https://www.dfworkshop.net/daggerfall-unity-0-10-27/ I see
Clear active crime state like classic when exiting location area or fast travelling away
If this was a new fix and not a regression, I'm not sure why it wouldn't affect 0.10.24, but OK! I'll give it a try. I've unfortunately been too busy with off-screen stuff to experiment any with the 0.10.26 build since I first made this post :cry: but I've just done all my mod-applications to a 0.10.27 so hopefully this week I'll be able to get back to it!
