May Builds - Lycanthropy

The May release includes Lycanthropy from curse through to cure, banking loan improvements by Pango, new enchantments effects, and a raft of general fixes and improvements.

Very nice writeup, as usual :)
As you mentioned, people that never experienced lycanthropy in Daggerfall classic and don't want to be spoiled should skip most of the article...

Reminds me when I watched an unaware streamer turning into a werewolf, the confusion was real!
("Holy crap, I'm amazing!")

Only a small precision, maybe:
  • Use weakened spatial blend for spell missiles (Pango)
Well in the end I used standard sound spatialization, so
  • Spell missiles hit sounds spatialization (Pango)
would be more accurate...

Hooray for the return of the narrative update! :)
Whenever used – You will be damaged every time you strike with a weapon or cast from an item so enchanted by this malady.
Unless used daily – You must strike with a weapon or cast from an item so enchanted once per day, or you will start taking damage every few minutes. This damage will occur even while trying to rest.

Haha, that's awesome. I never bothered using this in classic, but having such a cursed item would be worth it if the enchantment payoff is good enough.

(Man, Daggerfall needs cursed item mods. Like finding a Daedric Tanto when you're level 3... but it's cursed to hurt you with every strike. Awesome!)

And great work with the loan improvements Pango! It really needed this to stay visible :)

Wow I had a feeling the update would come before the end of month according to git progress. Great job everyone!

Besides the main features of this update, I really welcome the list of fixes!
The improved object possitioners and modded assets fixes by Lacus
The whole UV mapping endeavor by Ferital
Artifacts and character creation fixes by Numidium
Better shadows in fog, sound fixes, and bug fixes by Pango
The Return of Hazelnut .)

Just one question. How does the Lycanthrope (and vampire) disease immunity work? Does it mean you are immune, full stop? Or is it more like DFU's advantages & disadvantages system where weakness to disease can offset that immunity?

Lycanthropes are hard immune to diseases and vampires are hard immune both disease and paralysis. These racial overrides set a special flag distinct from the usual resistance checks.

One exception are special infections - the diseases that infect player to become a vampire or lycanthrope. It's always possible to player to catch these, but they just end silently if player is already a transformed vampire or lycanthrope.
