There's a few kinks in the new dialog features we need to work out. You may not be able to progress in certain quests in latest builds until we fix this one. I've logged a couple of bug reports and will upload new builds as a priority the moment this one is fixed. :)

Edit: New builds are up now with this crash bug resolved. Thank you Nystul!

Looks great! I must say though that the on target levitation spell just fills me with creative ideas on how to kill people. Too bad enemies don't take fall damage in vanilla!

New builds are up with more spell effects, talk options, and some bug fixes. The Teleport effect (mark/recall) is now live and ready for use.

Builds have been updated again on Live Builds page. This is mainly a bug-fix build for a couple of issues around loading save games with older ConversationData and commoner quests closing HUD.

New builds are up on Live Builds page now with the following changes:
  • Fixes a bug where saves were not cleaned up properly after deletion. This could result in old data (like conversation state, discovery state, quests, and guild membership) persisting after deleting a game then creating a new character that re-uses that save index.
  • Adds a Movement Acceleration slider to Advanced > Gameplay in startup. More on this below.
  • Jumping now works like classic. You can hold down jump key to keep bouncing up and down, or prepare a jump while still in the air by holding down jump key. The player will jump again the moment they hit the ground.
  • You can now get work from NPCs in castles (Numidium).
  • Fixes a bug in whitespace handling for quest parser. Whitespace like tabs under a task block will no longer chain together tasks.
Regarding Movement Acceleration change, this allows you to dial in the amount of acceleration/deceleration from input system. You have might noticed in Daggerfall Unity that your character takes a moment to get up to full speed and then a moment to slow down again. This helps with precision of movment, but feels draggy to twitch-sensitive gamers and changes the movement feel compared to classic. The new settings are:
  • 1.0 : Slowest possible acceleration/deceleration. It's frankly terrible.
  • 5.0 : The new default setting. This is slightly faster than the old default.
  • 10.0 : Hardcoded to disable both input acceleration and deceleration completely. It's the "just go" and "just stop" setting.
You might still notice a slight delay when coming to a stop due to the camera smoothing. This is unrelated to acceleration/deceleration and doesn't change the player's speed at all.

Wow, these downloads sure are getting skinny. They used to be 60ish megs, right?

Yeah, they were about 40-60MB (depending on platform) only around a month ago. I changed the default sound font from "chorium.sf2" to "TimGM6mb.sf2" when I added support for custom sound fonts. This cut about 20MB from the download.
