Recasting magic item spells - possible?

Post by johnwax »

The Q key recasts spellbook spells until you run out of magicka. This lets the mage player prowl a dungeon and use his trusty Q key to whack monsters on sight. For magic item spells, however, you have no way to recast except to F6-Magic Items-Scroll Down-Use and finally click on the item. This means that magic items with damage spells are useless in combat. This is a carryover from the classic game.

Can the Q key be used to recast your last spell from either source (spellbook or magic item)? Even better, can another key be assigned to recaset magic item spells? The mage players will thank you!

I like the idea of being able to recast spells from magic items in the same way we can recast spells from spellbook. I think the same recast keybind could be used for both and the magic system just has to remember where the last spell came from. I don't see any problems making that work.
