What spell school is Free Action?

The spellmaker effect, not the spell with that name. And is there a convenient list for spell effect schools somewhere? UESP has ones for the purchasable spells but I can't find one for spell effects specifically.

I'd love to find a consistent way to include this information in game. There are some difficulties in this however as there's no UI space for this info in the two places you want it most, and the info text is all coming from classic game data (not DFU itself). I also want to be tidy in how it's presented. It's something I'll keep thinking about and integrate if I contrive a satisfactory solution.

Yeah, UI info on spell schools would be fantastic (as also discussed elsewhere recently), but it seems the classic UI's limitations constantly make implementing these much-needed feedback improvements difficult, if not impossible. Hopefully a solution is eventually found!

Thank you very much! This list clears up some confusion, and goes against some assumptions I made about the classification of a few other spells. I hope you do find a way to integrate it, that would be quite helpful.

While translucent onhover windows can't solve everything, this is another area where they are the best solution.

Also, wrong forum section dude.

Tool tips. In the spellbook, and the spellmaker. Its already been suggested,(by me) but I guess you forgot. Youve made tooltips for other things, cant you do it for those too?

I haven't forgotten. I'm not happy with how tooltips would look here. I want a better solution than the one you are proposing.

Yeah, just a reminder. This is a free project made by volunteers in their spare time. "I'll try to think of something" tends not to equate to "Fix uploaded in less than 30 minutes."

Never set an expectation for this project. We don't follow deadlines here.

Does it need to look pretty? People just want the info. Then how about adding text to the already existing spell info popup. Or adding it next to every spell effect in the spell maker. For example, Cure[Restoration magic] Drain[Destruction Magic]and so on.

Jay, im not rushing anyone. Im just putting out ideas.

Symbols or colors could take less place than text.
I'm not too fond of colors solution (could quickly look terrible), but 6 symbols for the 6 schools could look nice and require a minimal amount of screen estate is they cannot be confused with letters...
