A favorite video on a medieval melee weapon too seldom encountered in movies and RPGs, the poleaxe. In it, two gentlemen first give us a combo lecture-demonstration of a sequence of moves used during combat, then end with a short 'match.'

Alas, the video I most wanted to link seems to have vanished from YouTube. Leastwise, my standard searches no longer find it.

Was recently turned on to a short indie film titled "Knight of Hope," a medieval fantasy in which warrior in plate attempts to rescue a damsel-in-distress from a camp of outlaws. The fantasy settling allows a bit of implausibility, but the film is amazing overall. For once we see plate armor serving its purpose!, along with some plausibly realistic fighting technique. Excellent acting from the 'damsel' and all concerned. First-rate production values. Fine musical accompaniment. I've watched it a number of times. Not once have my eyes failed to moisten.
