What's Up with the Search Engine?

Why does the search engine choose to ignore terms I am looking for, or part of terms? It is absolutely infuriating.

I searched for
"Alchemist Guild"
"Alchemists Guild"
"Alchemist's Guild"
"Alchemists' Guild"

And it decides to IGNORE s, ' and Guild and keeps returning an irrelevant thread about a lycanthropy cure, just because it has the word "Alchemist" in it.

And Advanced search is no better, adding + made no difference.

Limitations of phpbb's search engine, from what I can tell there's no phrase search, and "guilds" is probably present in too many posts here, so the word is deemed non-discriminant by the search engine...

A workaround is to use an external search engine, say Google: site:forums.dfworkshop.net "alchemist's guild"

By the way there's no such thing as an alchemist's guild, I'm not even sure they're a faction... But it was mentioned as a possible mod

I tried using advanced search with +alchemist +guild and it does say it's ignoring the guild part. However it does still highlight the word if it's in one of the posts found. It's probably a matter of efficiency but it's not super intuitive. I did actually come across a post where you mentioned thinking about an alchemists guild

Highlights is some post processing done on search results, it doesn't prove the term was used for the search (and I trust the message that it wasn't).

Yes, my wording was bad but that's what I meant. It doesn't search for guild because alchemist is a longer word and it's cheaper to just search for that single word and highlight the matching words in each result. It would be more intuitive if it resorted the results and showed the posts with both words in it first.
