Oh god, don't believe i forgot to recommend Sacred 1 and 2. Both of them are one of the finest Action RPG's you can find...especially 2, but you need the community patch and a little bit of extra tweak to make it work properly.

I'd nominate Warlords Battlecry 3, but would recommend checking out The Protectors, which is a standalone free release of the game with a ton of tweaks, fixes, changes and other additions to make it run more smoothly on modern rigs.

The game falls into a category of guilty pleasure for me, personally. The Battlecry games always had this feeling of C-tier quality, voiceacting for a bunch of the units, somewhat unimpressive graphics for it's time, but some of the gameplay choices always intrigued me a whole bunch. It's an RTS game where you get to keep your hero character between scenarios/campaign maps. This probably rings a bell if you've played some custom RPG maps back in the Warcraft 3 days.

All the different races, classes and spellschools makes it something I think I'll always return to now that The Protectors has gotten the game to a more fluid experience. To some degree I'd say The Protectors is to WBC3 what DaggerUnity is to Daggerfall.

You forgot Heroes of Might and Magic II (1996) and III (1999) :) And Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven (1998) which was also really good.

If you're into point & click adventure games and you haven't already tried them, definitely go check out Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis as well as the first three Monkey Island games. They're from an era when Lucasarts was not a misnomer. I recommend using Scummvm to run them.
