Anyone else see the article about Google and LG's new VR screen prototype? Around twice the pixel density should help reduce the screen-door effect, and higher FPS is good, too.

If that article represents next-gen headset pixel density, that's about 1/3rd to 1/2th the "pixel density" of the eye, according to the article. Another two-three VR generations should see that gap disappear, but I think 1/3rd to 1/2th is major in and of itself.
Did a mission in Elite Dangerous: VR, which got me thinking about that. And how pretty the planet was, even through a blurry screen door.
