New Builds For 2018

Post by Interkarma »

Latest blog post shines a light on the great work the Daggerfall Unity team has done over the last few months.

We are now very close to a stable "Quests 0.4" build. After that, I will be moving on to 0.5 and spells in a big way.

What an epic pace! Great blog, thanks for describing the community contributions in more of a detail. And thanks to all contributors. 2018 is gonna be big for DFU I can feel it in my bones ;)

Looking on roadmap, it feels that 0.6 can be released more early than 0.5 :D

Haha it's true. A good problem to have though. :)

I'll still follow the general roadmap progression, but there's a good chance by the time we exit 0.5, the 0.6 and 0.7 cycles will be really short. Depending where we're at by then, they might just need some focused testing and fixes.

I'm loosely hoping we're into 0.8 before the end of this year. That would be a major milestone.

I have faith in this project, way more than I do in the other TES remake project I'm following. I'm just hoping there'll be a modding community for this when it's done, I'd love to see more content for Daggerfall. :)

Thank you for the confidence! :) I'm doing everything I can to see this through to 1.0. And I'm lucky the people who have attached themselves are just as passionate about it as I am.

There's a burgeoning mod community growing already, with some nice quest, texture, model, and scripting mods available. I know it's small right now, but I think these are the seeds a larger and more unified modding community down the road. We'll just have to wait and see where things go.

I do have one question, and I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place for questions. How many save slots will this have? I like to create a bunch of characters, and the original six-slot limit was kind of limiting.
