Kamer, awesome job you're doing here!

One question though: do you think you'd be able to imitate Mark Jones' style that he used for Battlespire high-res sprites? Something like this:

I suppose that if Bethesda wanted to make a high-res update for Daggerfall back in 1996-1997 they'd have probably stuck with this style.

The warrior lady can also be seen on this scaled-down shot:

There were no other human characters done AFAIK, but humanoids like Dremora and Fire/Ice Daedra can give a clue at what they could've looked like.

Maybe. That might be something I try after this. I never even thought of doing ones based on Battlespire. If I could find more images I'd be open to maybe do a pack but only after the OG Daggerfall cast.

I remember reading at Mark Jones' website that he made some of the Battlespire enemies based on the existing Daggerfall models so I thought that since you're trying to recreate DF models some of the Battlespire stuff could be also used as a reference.

With newer models and stuff I can also do stuff like this.

I've decided to give them hands. Also seeing how bows would look on them.

Hi there. I'm new to these forums but have been lurking around for some years now.

I have an idea. How about you use Adobe Fuse to design the characters and then model the armour or clothes in Blender?
I think it's possible to use Adobe Fuse to generate most of the humanoid chars. And you actually don't need any modelling skills so any of you amazing people here can try it out.

Example (I made this Orc in about 1 hour):

In Fuse, you can upload the character directly to Mixamo which will auto rig the char and select prefab animations to download for free. The model can then be imported directly to Unity and other 3D programs as well. Or maybe use the models to make high-resolution sprites.

It should be free to use Fuse while in BETA but I don't know if you need a paid Adobe CC account.

However, I'm considering using reference images from Daggerfall library to create 3D chars. And everybody is welcome to join.

Kamer can focus on armour to speed things up.

Anyways this was just a quick little suggestion and an idea I've had for a while.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers. Keep up the great work Kamer.

Have you looked at Makehuman? It integrates into blender and exports other formats as well. I'm not a 3D guy but I'm curious how useful a tool it is.
